I've tried a few liners and this grid-pattern Thermolite one is noticeably warmer than the flat fleece kind. It packs down small enough to stuff in my pack's lid pocket, and the fabric feels soft against my skin instead of scratchy.

Slept in this liner down to about 30 degrees and stayed warm the whole night, which I didn't expect from something this thin. The hollow-core fibers trap heat way better than my old cotton liner, and it packs down small enough to stuff in the bottom of my pack.

The Thermolite grid pattern really does trap heat differently than my old cotton liner. I used it inside my 20-degree bag on a soggy camping trip and woke up warm for once.
